You can't save yourself.

The idea of a normal musical album is thrown out the window. In its place, two stories with coexisting timelines, read along with the often uncomfortable audio coming from your speakers. This isn't about music, it's about what happens to twin sisters Anorexia and Nervosa, and how it applies to you. Discuss Anorexia and Nervosa here.

definitely my least favorite showbread album (not counting the pre no sir days) but this one had the biggest first listen impact on me. and the pig, the goat and the beginning (all from nervosa) are some of my favorite showbread songs.

this record was so unique and the stories are beautiful. It's really annoying though, because I have some friends that just straight up downloaded the album with no interest in the stories, and said that the albums are crap. That they're "Just Noise." But they have no idea because they don't want to read the stories. Makes me want to punch their jeans.

I really wish I'd seen them on the "You can't save yourself" Tour

these albums were really the reason i got into showbread.
first time i read through the stories i sobbed.
hey, beauty supreme
yeah, you were right about me
but can i get myself out from underneath this guilt that will crush me?

Nervosa had the biggest impact on me. Overall as albums, I agree with Sean in that these are my least favorite of their post-No Sir records.

I know I did. I couldn't go to a show because my parents didn't want to drive 8+ hours there and back (go figure) and my girlfriend didn't have a car at the time. If they did the "You Can't Save Yourself" Tour now, I'd be there in a second....well, 8+ hours anyways

Most definitely my favorite CDs. The Sky (N) was the first Showbread song I ever heard. Then I got the CDs for Christmas and they were my first Showbread Cds (I had TFoG and AoR before January). I just love them! Because they're dark and icky, and complex and deep, and horrible and beautiful. I've only read the stories once, because I don't want to over read it.

And yes, I was crying. I also read it in the dark with one light, with my headphones in starting at about midnight.

These albums were how I was introduced to Showbread, after hearing "The Journey (N)" on the radio almost constantly, a friend let me borrow these CDs. I enjoyed the sound for the most part, and the stories improved upon that. This is the inciting incident in my Showbread fandom.

However at this point owning all of the albums, I can't say if I enjoy this the most musically. It's great when I'm in the mood for it, but other than that it's not as great.

Anorexia Nervosa is my least favorite Showbread album/s.
However, I love the stories in both. If I am in the mood to listen to these albums however I totally will.

Fo' sho'. The lyrical style for The Journey (N) is awesome to me. Like the complexity of the lyrics clash with the hectic song and BOOM BOOM POW, awesome.

I despise myself for quoting that horrid song
