this album combo was absolutely superb. always thought it would have been kinda awesome if they had been afforded the opportunity to make a video for each song to add some extra visual to the story.

These are probably my favorite two Showbread albums. If I had to pick one then Nervosa edges out Anorexia in my ever so humble opinion. The first time I listened to it and read its story I teared up a bit. Sonically it sounds to me like Josh and the boys decided to make a NIN record, which is awesome. I actually think it is a better record than "The Slip" which Trent put out the same year.
Never praise mediocrity.

Same.

I LOVE YOU GUYS. I'm a broke high school and I have been wanting these for ages. I will buy the album when I have a job over summer though, so I'll still support the band! I can't wait to read the story with the songs. I have the music already, and I love it even as it is without the story.

'K, well, since it's basically impossible for me to dislike anything Raw, I think Anorexia/Nervosa are quite the accomplishments!
Part of what makes them so awesome is their concept. Now that I've read the stories with the albums (which is how the albums are meant to be listen through), I can say that this double release is the best musical concept I know. The stories (and their tie-in timing with the music) bring out so much to the lyrics and sound of the album. Simply beautiful!

Lyrically sound, musically raw, and conceptually pure, A/N will forever remain on my top eight albums list (tied for first with Showbread's LKAOWE and NS,NINP and AoR and TFoG and WCKI? and Cancer).

So, I'm off to listen to A/N again... this time to catch the concept without the story.

I agree, guy above me. They really did a great job with the concept. Definitely unlike anything I know of.

I listened and read Anorexia today for only the second time I think. I was tearing up at the end, I admit, which is a bit weird for me. Anyway, I had a question about the story in the booklet. After the story for each song, there is another bold face number, but the number doesn't correlate to the song. What is it for? For instance, at the end of track 1, it says "16:26". Is this relating to Nervosa or something completely different? Also the small numbers throughout the story. What are they referencing?

Sorry I'm a bit late on this one, but it would be great if someone knew.
Either way, truly a great story.

If I remember correctly, the small numbers spell a name/book, and the "16:26" or whatever number correspond to the Bible verse in that book. I remember staying up one night while I was in Germany and figuring it all out, but that was years and years ago, now.

Awesome, thanks a lot! I forgot to say, what about the other story in the booklet? The one after each song. I think it's in italics and is about a man that works with children and contracts something. Is that just a supplementing story along the same lines that wasn't used or is there a way to listen along with that one as well?

i always just read the italicized parts during the longer intervals of the main story.

i once decoded and wrote down all of the hidden messages and whatnot. took me a while, especially to look up all the verses, as they are sometimes very obscure. it's sometimes hard to figure out exactly how a certain verse even relates.
oh yeah, i also attempted to find a hidden message in a few typos i discovered, but it turned out they were just typos lol

Maybe someone already did, but I would love to get copies of the booklets. I bought physical copies of both albums, but they've been ruined 9as with all of my other albums). PM, FB, DropBox or Email will all be awesome :]

I remember now how I was just coming into the Showbread fray right when all the hype for this album was starting to build. With all the weird messages and stuff. And then "The Pig"s got posted on myspace, and my head exploded. Was that actually 5 years ago? dang.
meh.
