Song Stuff 2012:
I'm going to leave this up so anyone that wants to get involved for A Raw Rock Christmas 3 has an idea of the things we're looking for. Get started now!

  1. You do not have to be a registered user of this site to submit a song. Both members and non-members can contribute. However, registration is free now so you may register if you wish.
  2. Obviously, the song must be Christmas/winter/holiday related. It doesn't have to be religious in any way, but it needs to be appropriate, content-wise. No swears, y'all.
  3. This can be covers (new or traditional), re-imaginings of other songs, or your own original piece.
  4. PLEASE remember, I need the original uncompressed audio of your song, not an mp3. When you bounce your song, make sure you save a copy as either .wav, .aif, or .flac. This is the file that I need. If you're unsure of how to do this, please hit me up and I'm more than happy to help you out.
  5. Pleaaaaaase do not post your creations publicly online, it's way more fun to wait until everything's released at once before you hear any songs.
  6. Submissions should be sent with the following information:
    Code: Select all
    Your name:
Username: (leave blank if you aren't a registered user)
    Musician/artist/band name:
    Musician/artist/band location:
    Website/Twitter/Facebook/Bandcamp/anything really:
    Song title:
    Additional info:
Anything can be emailed to me at jeremy@rawrockmilitia.com - ALL submissions must go there. Discussion can stay in this thread, you can also post on our Facebook wall or @reply us on Twitter.

*Usually a lossless quality audio file will be quite large, and sometimes too large to be sent as an email attachment. If you have trouble with this, please upload to http://mediafire.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or a similar site and email me the link to download. Make sure you include the info I requested above.

title: Have a Merry Bloody Christmas
my band will probably have a song for it, but be warned the recording quality will probably be poop.

My vote goes to that one. I've got an idea for a song.....very scrooge-y, but christmas nonetheless. I'll probably do a TSR something as well.
I get up in the morning, divide by zero, howl at the moon and eat a bowl of surreal.

I have no opinion on the name and I can't art well enough to contribute to that.

My one suggestion is that we have a standard for volume and song lengths. As far as I know length wasn't an issue last year (our song was the longest one of the album, and even then it was only 5 minutes). For volume it'll have to between x and y decibels. Again, I don't think that was a big issue, it just makes it easier for Jeremy (or whoever puts this together) and it means that they don't have to edit the songs too much to make them fit together.
And we go chop the cialis. Cialis had. Cialis grew the uk of creaking generic.

Actually last year I did have to spend a lot of time playing with song levels so that it could sound as normal as possible going from song to song. Unfortunately I don't really know specifics on telling people how to make this easier for me.

i don't think there should be a standard song length, as long as one isn't some sort of christmas parody of impossible soul.

I kind of liked the sound of the title last year, the way it had a title and subtitle. Would it be cool to continue doing that, as in [main title]: A Raw Rock Christmas II, or something like that?

I don't have much in the way of name suggestions. I always liked the line from O, Little Town of Bethlehem that says "The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight", so I was going to suggest "Hopes and Fears" but then I remembered the Keane album.

Something referencing that line from A Christmas Carol about people being boiled in pudding and stabbed through the heart with holly stakes? You know, just because it's violent. (Apparently I'm into that line right now)

Yeah, I was planning on doing A Raw Rock Christmas II, and then it would have another title besides that. It just works well and it makes it easy to differentiate by year.

Title Idea: "It's A Raw Life"
Cover Idea: A picture of the family from "It's A Wonderful Life" but with the raw Rock symbol over there faces.
Question: Can I cover Jimmy Fallon's version of "Whip My Hair" for the album?

My brother said it should be called "Ol' Bag Head's Christmas Album of Joy. And Raw Rockiness" and have a picture of Ol' Bag Head with a Santa hat on the front.
