Don't have the book to get started this week?

Postby kyleisliving » Wed Jan 12, 2011 11:14 pm

Well then listen up. Head on down to Barnes & Noble to preview the whole first section! It should give you enough time to order or run out and get the book for next week. The only catch is, you have to have a Barnes & Noble account. It's free to sign up so don't freak out, just opt out of emails or something if you don't want them.

Go get "Jesus for President: Politics for Ordinary Radicals" by Shane Claiborne

I'll see if it's at the local christian book store, and if they do, I'll try and keep up.

I just got it at B & N. When I came home my mom read the title and introduction and asked me if I was joining a cult and then started mumbling something about Charles Manson...

Then, like fifteen minutes later i came downstairs and asked my mom where I can find the clippers and kool-aid. She wasnt very happy about that...

Clippers? Do cult members trim their nails too much?

I assumed they meant the kind you shave your head with.

Yeah, I meant clippers to shave my head, but who knows, there might be a cult with perfect nails. To each his own I guess.

I really want to get this book and participate in the book club, I'm just not sure I can afford the book. Being in college is expensive and I don't live anywhere near a library, besides the school library which doesn't count.

You're right. That's the only logical solution.

"How To Read a Book" by Mortimer J Adler. It's actually quite brilliant. No, I'm not kidding.
