I think that was a spongebob reference when Patrick suggest they take bikini bottom and push it somewhere else. I always thought it was suggestive.

My take on this situation is this:

If they do have gun control in America, the criminals won't care and would get their hands on a gun either way. Us non-criminals would have no way to defend ourselves in case of an attack, and because of that I believe that it would just cause more crime and deaths.
Why would someone who's already a criminal care about another law?
Now, I think it should be harder to get a gun. I believe that people SHOULD be able to have guns at their homes, for personal safety reasons. I do not believe, however, that the guns should be like assault rifles or powerful firearms. When I get my own house, I want to be able to protect myself, so if the law still allows, I'm going straight to get a good gun for my house. Maybe some pistol or something.
For those who want to take guns completely out of America, except for the military:
No. This isn't a good idea.

That's my take.

Can you imagine the reaction if the US government told all gun owners to turn in their guns?

As much as I'd like to say, "I'd doubt the U.S. government is stupid enough to try something like that." I'm sure they are stupid enough.

It happened in New Orleans after the hurricane. The cops and ~military~ were breaking into people homes under the guise of making sure everyone was safe, but they were taking everyone's guns. And by taking, I mean beating and stealing and were told to shoot those who refused to give'em up. Good ol' Murka.

Am I the only one who thinks we should convert to a Monarchy for a little bit, just to see what it's like?

You are literally the only one who thinks we should convert to a Monarchy for a little bit just to see what it's like.

One does not convert to a monarchy, for a little bit.

One of my friends and I were talking about how we think America will turn into 3-5 monarchies when the country breaks down.

I say we go into a dictatorship under his Lord Highness, Ron Paul. That way, we won't have to worry about losing our rights and we can get all this evil government stuff out of the way. OR we could just actually deal with the problems instead of being a bunch a morons and going to extremes all the time...that'd be fine too, i guess...(talking about politicians, not you guys. We get crap done here!)

I hope we get stuff done. All this stuff about Greece's economy going down, and all the lives it's ruining, it really makes you just stop and think. Obviously, our country is not as bad as Greece right now, economy-wise, but if we just sit here and talk about answers, yet do nothing, I think it won't be long before our economy is like Greece's.
