I've used elements of facing the giants in my sales meetings, I find them a good tool to share, but agree, they can be lame.

Watched Courageous a couple of weeks back with my father in law - he loved it, he home schooled my wife and her brothers and sisters, I laughed most of the way through it, but did take some things away from it, mainly I'm unfit and when my kid wants to run, I better keep up!

I also agree with earlier poster, House was a much more watchable film.

Veggietales is still legit. I still like Larry.
I get up in the morning, divide by zero, howl at the moon and eat a bowl of surreal.

I had a thought today about why a lot of Christian music, movies, etc. are critically not very good.

Most people choose to make art because they think theyre good at it/they have a unique voice. They make said art and get feedback and continue/stop depending on said feedback.

Christians make art because they want to praise God, not necessarily because theyre good at making art. And usually when they make said art, they get unanimous praise from their Christian peers regardless of quality, and other Christians tend to like it just because its Christian, not because they have objectively decided its of high quality.

Hey Andrew.

That seems very legit. I have heard countless times that people like whatever christian terribly directed and acted movie because of "the message".

I think this also adds to how easy it is to target american Christians as idiots.

You know what movie will be awesome?
Cancer!
But anyway I don't watch many movies and I personally think most modern movies are crap and aren't worth the $8.
P.S.
Does The Ghost of Christmas Dewge count as a Christian movie? If so I liked that one.

Where I live $8 gets you a double feature at the drive in. On special nights it can be triple or quadruple features. All for only $8. And you can bring your own food so you're not paying $6 for a soda.

And they never play terrible Christian movies.

Let's say yes. Also, Thor. The son of a god is sent down to earth, dies and comes back to life to save humanity, that's how I saw it anyway.

I watched a Christian movie called "The Encounter". It was thought provoking, it impacted my inner soul actuallly. It's some sort of modern face to face question and answer to Jesus but it has also an ok story. Some of my doubts were answered in some ways. But if you're really a true Jesus follower (for a long time), i guess it will not impact you as much as me. Jesus here is so handsome by the way.
