Summer Reading

Postby HunterBrown » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:05 pm

I have decided that over the summer I'm going to read a bunch of books that have been made into movies, and then watch the movies. Here's my list so far.
I'm reading A Clockwork Orange now then,
Fight Club
American Psycho
Less Than Zero

Any other suggestions?

Fight Club was pretty good. With a few exceptions, I actually liked the movie way better. Unfortunately I've got no suggestions for you.

This summer I hope to read:
some massive Edgar Allen Poe collection I found at a yardsale
Slaughterhouse Five
Mere Christianity

You should read Frankenstein, then watch the original movie and be disgusted at how badly they ruined it.

I suggest the Lord of the rings, if you haven't already.
Its full of glorious epicness with battle and people not passing other people, and stuff like that.

My description doesn't do it justice.

I'm currently reading wind up bird chronicle. I kinda want to read other haruki murakami novels and some Kurt Vonnegut. I'm also considering rereading Harry potter.

I've heard that both the movie and the book suck.

I really liked The Hobbit, but I never liked Lord Of The Rings.
it's almost like . . . too epic for me.

I shall add it to my list then.

Anyone who says the book is bad is a high schooler who got assigned it and thought it didn't have enough explosions.

It was actually my sister, who was a pretty successful high schooler in my opinion.
Way better than I am, at least.

I wept for a few days before coming to terms with this statement. I'm ok now, really.

But I love pizza.

I wasn't crazy about the books, but the movies were good. I liked the Hobbit a lot and am looking forward to the movie.

I am eating pizza! Anywho, I tried to read The Lord of the Rings and couldn't get past Tom Bombadil. I don't know why. I only enjoy fantasy books too, so in theory I should have adored it. Must be too adult focused. I read children's books. (Harry potter, Percy Jackson, neverending story, etc.)
