Fahrenheit 451 for sure. Also, to kill a mockingbird was pretty great.

Hated this book. And the movie was even worse.

I didn't mind Mice and Men, or the Great Gatsby, but it all got in the way of my reading of the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant... so I was kind of displeased with them for that reason alone.

i didn't care for it, too much depressing nonsense for my taste. 'specially with hurting animals. it wasn't as bad as say, where the red fern grows though.

Even though it's a play, in ym final year of high school we studie Harold Pinter's "the Homecoming" very bizarre and quirky.

Absolutely my favorite assigned books were The Scarlet Letter and A Picture of Dorian Grey.
I adored the symbolism of each of these and actually wrote an entire paper on the reason why Dimmsdale wore the color grey throughout The Scarlet Letter.

My favorites would have to be A Picture of Dorian Gray, Lord of the Flies and Fahrenheit 451.

R.I.P Bradbury :(

PS: Catcher in the Rye, was the most overrated/disappointing assigned books that I read.

I remember liking Carry On, Mr. Bowditch. That one was pretty good. The Iliad was pretty good as well. I enjoyed Dante's Inferno, too. I read Shelley's Frankenstein, and it was very, very good! The writing style was excellent! Of course, The Hound of the Baskervilles was amazing, as were the original Sherlock Holmes adventures. But my all time favorite book (that happened to be a summer reading project) is Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo! Oh. My. Goodness. That book is fantastic! Purely amazing! :-P

Holden wasn't supposed to be a likable character.

Really? I liked him. Quite a bit. But then, I'm really embarrassed to say that I didn't finish the book.

You know, that I recall... we read 'The Death of a Salesman' by Arthur Miller back in highschool. It was pretty good for a play/tragedy about a salesman dying.
