Has anyone else read much of his books? I just bought "The Place Of Dead Roads" and wanted to know if anyone had read it...
I've already read Naked Lunch and Junky. Just got Queer from the library...

Have you ever read a single beatnik book? They were literally a bunch of gay buddhists.

Haha, no, but I'm friends with Diguin in real life and he has told me ALL about Burroughs tales.

I gotta be honest, I saw Burroughs in the Topic title, and thought maybe it had something to do with Edgar Rice Burroughs the author of Tarzan and the Barsoom (John Carter) novels. I've heard enough about Naked Lunch (mainly through Josh Dies' posts) to know that this is not the case, and that the writing styles couldn't be further from each other.

Naked Lunch made me throw up. I was on a really uncomfortable airplane, and it was one of the particularly brutal "scenes" but still. I love Exterminator. Especially the Priest.
