it's a pretty short read, but very dense. reminds me of bonhoeffer in terms of tackling his thought process from many different angles to make a multi-faceted argument.

anyway, it's about tolstoy's (what i would call) mid-life crisis, realizing that all of life's accolades and titles attributed to him are meaningless. each chapters follows his thought process through his hope being lost, depression, flirting with suicide, seeking answers to the meaning of life, and eventual discovery of God in his life. check it out! :)

just found it all online for anyone who wants to take the time to read it.

I've read Tolstoy's Confession once a year for the last four or five years. One of the most influential works I've ever read. Great stuff for thinking people who hold any worldview.
