Official Cancer Thread

Apparently the next album is called Cancer. I felt the need to hold it in, but I think now is a good time to say that Drew told me a while back that Showbread is hoping to hit the studio around February.

So is Cancer the official title now? I heard a little about it on formspring or something but nothing other than that.

i guess so. josh also mentioned on twitter i think that he's listened to a lot of the darkness, david bowie, and the rentals for inspiration. i think it'll be interesting.

Yeah, I remember reading something about that too. I also recall Josh saying something about the next Showbread album being similar to A/N (I'm sure that meant thematically, not musically), so the title Cancer makes me wonder if it will be some sort of sequel or sister album to A/N.

I mean...not because A/N was about sisters...like a companion piece or whatever.

yeah, for some reason, the title cancer brings to mind industrial stuff to me. also, i don't know if it's relavent, but they did a tour with their wives on keyboard under the name cancer bots.

This is super exciting. Isn't The Darkness that band that played those amazing 80's hair-band-type songs?

that was on showbreads formspring. the darkness is a hair metal band josh likes. i think i may have heard one of their songs. hair metal isn't really my thing, but it would be interesting to see showbreads take on it. i like what i've heard from david bowie and the rentals.

i doubt it'll be extremely industrial if it's industrial at all because showbread doesn't do the same thing twice. none of the bands mentioned as influence are industrial. i just think cancer sounds like an apropriate name for an industrial album and apparently they said something about anorexia nervosa.

I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE OOOOOH.

Unless it's a different hair metal band called The Darkness. They're from like an hour away from where I live.

THE DARKNESS HAS 20 SONGS, NOT ONE.

Rachel, I am super jealous of your location. Please bring Justin Hawkings to me.

Everyone else, get it together. Seriously.
