Re: Official Cancer Thread

We love you guys. All of you.

We haven't made any contributions to the Cancer wiki since the record release—it's all you. But I'm watching it with excitement!

Pumped to dig deeper.

Re: Official Cancer Thread

The second listen was slightly better. A few of the songs toward the end I found a bit week. A lot of people described wcki as"showbreads worship album), but I honestly found this album more fitting of that description. I might enjoy it more of my faith wasn't as shaky as its been the last few...

Re: Gay Marriage Discussion

That said, I just want to affirm the research your doing and agree that yes, there is some debate over the NT greek in question. But virtually ALL of the conclusions being made in favor of a questionable translation are happening outside of orthodox Christianity, that is, by non-Christian scholars ...

Re: Gay Marriage Discussion

So, I've looked into the issue of homosexuality a lot and I've come to the point where i no longer believe homosexuality is a sin. i appreciate your points Josh, but as far as all the NT passages go, all of the studying ive done points to a major translation issue. basically, a lot of the passages ...

Re: Portland Housing Question

What are some areas to live in and where are some areas we might want to stay away from? Thanks!! i honestly still don't know much, my wife ...

Re: "No Sir" vinyl?

We badly wanted to have a vinyl version of Cancer, but it just doesn't make any financial sense. To make it worthwhile, packaging wise, makes for an incredibly expensive product that hardly anyone chooses over the CD. we're putting together fantastic packaging for the only physical version of Cancer...

Re: Gay Marriage Discussion

I like to think of myself as a Jesus follower, but the truth is, I've just in general been skeptical lately. Can I reject several of christianitys core doctrines and still follow Christ? I certainly would like to think so, but that's a different discussion for a different thread. Dude, there is PLE...

Re: Gay Marriage Discussion

I don't have problems accepting if the Bible says homosexuality is a sin, I have problems accepting the Bible. I don't see why homosexuality should be a sin other than because God supposedly says so. and that's totally fine/valid. according to the Christian worldview, no "sin" is labeled ...

Re: Gay Marriage Discussion

I didn't know Josh even ventured into these parts of the forum. Anyway, It's hard though to love gay people and then have to tell them to their face "I think your private romantic actions are wrong because my bible says so". Being a Christian, this has happened to me once or twice with ga...

Re: Gay Marriage Discussion

There are a lot of totally valid points being made on both sides of this discussion. I want to affirm you guys and say you're all very smart and capable people. Obviously I'm not any more qualified than any of the rest of you to speak to this particular subject—that is, you don't need my take on it—...

Re: Cancer film clips?

Hey guys, Since Cancer is such an epic concept album (which I personally cannot wait for) with lots of layered parts and long songs, will you guys be sneaking in some film clips and crazy sounds like you did with Anorexia Nervosa? Or since you're making a full-length film to go along with the album...

Re: How do I get a bass tone like Patrick's?

Specifically, the sound from No Sir... Seriously, I've been messing with my settings for hours now but just can't seem to get it just right. I'm playing a Fender Jazz with an Ampeg SVT head, which I'm pretty sure is a very similar set-up to Patrick, so it should be possible... but I'm really strugg...

Re: Is Creative Rock n Roll directly related to Nihilism?

There are a lot of rock n roll bands, a lot . The ease of a group of people coming together and making music is blatant, anyone can do this and nearly everybody does. Things like "music theory" and "lyrical intelligence" are often thrown out in favor of quasi-rebellion of [outda...

Re: A bit of a mind bender and heart wrencher for me

Hey guys. So this is a tough one for me. Here we have Zinnia Jones. He is an Atheist. Blatantly. I have no problem with that. In fact I love the Atheist point of view. I don't have a problem with the language. And I don't have a problem with how he looks. My question is about the comment he brings ...

Re: Random question about a song...

George Romero Will Be At Our Wedding... About 3 minutes and 11 seconds into the song. Was that a burp? yep. i fought a lot with matt on that song, mostly over the inclusion of vocal harmonies, which he loved and I hated. I did the burp on a take to annoy him and fought to leave it intact just to of...
